Park Medical Centre is supporting Imperial College London with an important clinical research study for children with asthma.

The CARE-UK study is looking at a combination reliever inhaler and how it may be used in children with asthma.

If your child has asthma, they may be able to take part in this research and help researchers learn more about asthma treatments for children.

C.Difficile Vaccine Trail

Are you aged 65 or over? You could help with important vaccine research.

Park Medical Centre is supporting MPFT with a clinical trial investigating a vaccine that may help protect against a leading cause of healthcare-related infections.

You may be able to take part if you:

  • Are aged 65 or over
  • Have taken antibiotics within the last 90 days
  • Have been admitted to hospital within the last 12 months

Dare2THINK

❤️ DaRe2THINK: Atrial Fibrillation Research

Do you have atrial fibrillation (AF)? You could help shape the future of AF care.

Park Medical Centre is supporting the DaRe2THINK research study, led by the University of Birmingham. The study is looking at whether starting blood-thinning medication earlier than usual could help reduce complications associated with AF.

Who may be eligible?

You may be able to take part if you:

  • Have atrial fibrillation (AF)
  • Are not currently taking a blood-thinning medication for AF
  • Meet the study's other eligibility requirements

The research team will confirm whether you are eligible.

The IDEAL-BACKPACS Back Pain Study

Are you aged 16 to 50? Have you been living with long-term back pain?
 
Park Medical Centre is proud to be a participating practice in the IDEAL-BACKPACS Back Pain Study, a national research project funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). 
 
The study aims to design a new, faster computer tool to help GPs identify an inflammatory spinal condition called axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA). Currently, getting a proper diagnosis can take between 5 to 8 years. We want to change that, giving future patients much faster access to treatment. 
Who is this study for?
 
We are looking for patients who fit the following profile:
  • 🎂 Aged between 16 and 50 years old.
  • ⏱️ Suffering from chronic back pain that has lasted for more than 3 consecutive months.
  • 📅 Your back pain first started before you reached age 45.
  • ❌ You do not already have a formal diagnosis of axSpA. 
How do I join?
Because this is a controlled clinical study, you cannot sign up directly.
Our practice computer systems are currently screening for eligible patients. If you match the study criteria, you will receive an SMS text message invitation from Park Medical Centre with a secure link to register your interest. 

IBS

Park Medical Centre is supporting MPFT with a clinical research study investigating IBS.

You may be able to take part if you:

  • Are aged 18 to 75
  • Have IBS with predominantly constipation or diarrhoea
