Cycling Challenge! Well Done! Dr Chudyk 🚴

We're delighted to share that Dr Chudyk has completed an incredible cycling challenge, riding from Stone, Staffordshire to Stonehenge to raise money for the Haywood Foundation, a charity that helps local people with Arthritis.
This is a fantastic personal challenge, involving many miles of cycling and determination along the way. We know many of our patients will want to join us in wishing Dr Chudyk the very best of luck.

Car Park Update

We’ve noticed that more and more people are using the surgery car park when they are not visiting the Doctor’s Surgery or the Pharmacy. Unfortunately, this means that some of our patients — including those with serious illnesses, mobility difficulties, or urgent needs — are unable to find a space when they need it most.
 
Please remember:
  • The car park is only for patients attending the Doctor’s Surgery or Pharmacy
  • It is not for Dentist Parking or General Use
  • When patients can’t park and have to search elsewhere, it often leads to delays in arriving for GP appointments — which has a knock-on effect for the whole clinic.
  • By keeping these spaces free, you are helping those who rely on being able to park close by to access essential care and medicines, and you’re also helping us keep appointment times running smoothly.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) Update

From 23 June 2025, following approval by NICE, tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) will be available in the NHS for eligible patients who meet the strict, nationally-set, criteria.

The current criteria is that patients are those with a BMI of 40 or higher, and with four or more of the qualifying comorbidities (hypertension, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnoea, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes) will be eligible for assessment to identify their suitability for Mounjaro. Anyone not meeting these criteria will not be eligible for assessment in the first year of the drug being available.

Please do not contact your GP; if you are eligible to be assessed you will be contacted over the coming months and invited to attend an appointment for assessment. Those with the greatest clinical need will be contacted first.

Weight-management services update - Mounjaro

We are receiving a significant number of enquiries about the availability of the Mounjaro weight-loss drug which has been approved by NHS England for eligible patients. NHS England has set the criteria for eligibility for the drug; this is a national policy which all NHS prescribers, such as GPs and pharmacists, are required to abide by. The criteria for weight management cannot be changed by prescribers.

Although NHS England has approved the drug, all GPs are waiting for information about how the drug will be provided to eligible patients, when, and for how long. We are also awaiting guidance about how the drug should be used by patients along with other services to support weight management, such as diet and exercise.
